Harry Soo Competition Workshop: Learn from the best with Harry Soo, the award-winning Pitmaster and TV personality featured on shows like BBQ Pitmasters. With over 100 first place finishes and 30+ Grand Championships to his name, Harry Soo will share his winning secrets for preparing competition style pork ribs, chicken, and brisket. Whether you’re a seasoned competition barbecuer or wanting to secure your first walk ups, this class is your chance to learn proven techniques that dominate the BBQ competition world.
You will get the chance to meet Harry Soo, participate in his hands-on workshop where you will learn the processes and techniques that Harry uses to win Grand Championships and competition walk-ups. Students will prepare three proteins with Harrys direct guidance including pork ribs, chicken and Brisket-and taste test all of them! Students will take home the skills and techniques needed to increase their competition results and win competitions.
KCBS CBJ Training: Additionally, each ticket holder will participate in a KCBS judges’ certification which will teach expert knowledge on how to evaluate world-class barbecue as you taste, critique, and score BBQ. By the end of the 4-hour session, you’ll be certified KCBS BBQ judge, qualified to judge competitions across the USA! You will learn how to judge and sample hand in boxes for Brisket, Pork Ribs, Pork and Chicken.
Understanding how a KCBS judge reviews and determines the score for a hand in, is hugely valuable for any competition team. It gives understanding on how judges look at and score boxes, as well as how to avoid landing the dreaded DQ.
Please note, in order to register for a KCBS judging class, a KCBS membership is required. To register, visit the KCBS website. If you are already a certified KCBS judge, you are welcome to attend the training as a refresher. Because this training is complimentary, there is no reduction in price ticket price, if you are already a KCBS CBJ.
